LeadUp 1825 is a Proof of Concept organization for Emergent Leaders (18 to 25) who resonate with the vision and who commit to establishing the operational framework to prepare teams for a successful 2021 launch.
What we have established to date...
LeadUp has partnered with PayPal, an online payment processor with over 200 million accounts. You can process a transaction with a credit card or use existing PayPal funds. For your peace of mind, no one at LeadUp has access to your financial information.
If you do not have a bank account or credit card, you can purchase a PayPal gift card at a local store and use it for your LeadUp activities.
In the My Financial Details section of the website, you can review your LeadUp transactions. Each LeadUp transaction has an invoice number that corresponds to your PayPal and credit card records. Transactions include a description and details of the corresponding LeadUp activity.
Money is reimbursed to LeadUp 1825 for activity expenses such as pre-paid tickets, food purchased in advance, etc. When you sign up for a LeadUp activity and pay ahead of time, LeadUp 1825 holds your money until the activity is completed. This process ensures that all money is safe and that an Activity Leader remains financially accountable to you.
With some activities, the volunteer Activity Leader may include a request for a donation to charity. Donations apply only to adult registrations, never to registrations for those under 18 years of age. All charity donations are kept in trust by LeadUp 1825 until dispersed. To ensure your donations will be delivered to the intended charity, LeadUp 1825 does not co-mingle funds.
In order to cover PayPal expenses, LeadUp charges small transaction fees when LeadUp friends sign up for activities. All fees are displayed before checkout. Because there are per transaction as well as percentage fees, you can save money by booking multiple events at once.
The LeadUp activity cost is nonrefundable and nontransferable unless LeadUp 1825 cancels the activity. If an event is canceled by LeadUp, the total LeadUp activity cost will be refunded within 7 days of activity cancellation.
Some LeadUp activities may have organized carpooling. All carpool drivers for a LeadUp activity should show the LeadUp Activity Leader proof of current car registration, a driver's license, and insurance. Please do not volunteer to drive unless all of the aforementioned is current and on your person or in your car. Carpool drivers are considered "designated drivers" and will not be permitted to consume alcohol at any time before or during the activity. Drivers will never "text" while driving. If it is necessary to use a cell phone, drivers are expected to obey the law and use a hands-free device.
In addition to LeadUp-sponsored carpooling, LeadUp has established Ride & Gas share—an online communication tool designed to help LeadUp friends reach an activity. This tool shows a Google map with the location of other event attendees so that LeadUpers can arrange to share rides with nearby attendees.
The use of this communication tool is optional. Ride & Gas Share is not a LeadUp carpool and is not sponsored by LeadUp 1825.
When you join others for a group dining experience, please calculate your portion of the restaurant bill correctly, including a generous tip for your server. We suggest adding 28% (20% tip and 8% tax) to your portion of the bill. If you can't afford to tip, please consider another activity.
Please respect your LeadUp Activity Leaders and the time they invest planning activities. If your plans change and you can no longer attend an activity, please notify the LeadUp Activity Leader by canceling your reservation on the website at least four (4) hours prior to the activity. Canceling your participation in an activity will not refund your payment, but is a much-appreciated sign of courtesy to your volunteer Activity Leader.
If you do not cancel and are a "no-show," a $10 no-show donation will be requested. This fee may be waived for extenuating circumstances.
All LeadUp friends are requested to update their accounts annually. Your annual renewal keeps all your LeadUp agreements (such as your Waiver & Release) and identifying information up-to-date-saving you time when signing up for activities.
We recognize that life changes, and you may also close your account at any time.
